The number of bank, government, and VA foreclosures increased in most metro areas of Florida in 2010 compared with the previous year. Among the 20 metropolitan areas in the U.S. with the highest rates of foreclosure last year, nine are in Florida. Although the number of foreclosure-related filings declined for the whole state by 6% in 2010, foreclosure rates remain high in most of the state's key markets.
